Join the Voice of Cardiology in Ontario
The OAC is the only organization in Ontario focused solely on representing the interests of cardiologists and their patients. We exist as a group to advocate for the protection and enhancement of patient access to cardiac care and to ensure that fair remuneration is provided for the life-saving services cardiologists provide. For more than 25 years, the OAC has maintained a leading and effective presence within Ontario’s health care landscape.
The OAC advocates on behalf of our members with the provincial government, the Ontario Medical Association, and other public agencies and professional bodies that make fundamental decisions affecting their ability to deliver vital cardiac care services.
The OAC helps members navigate Ontario’s continually evolving health care environment so they can focus on delivering high-quality cardiovascular care. We represent the interests of cardiologists with government, the Ontario Medical Association, and other key stakeholders, while providing practical support for members’ practices and professional success.
Current advocacy and member service priorities include:
- Advocating for sustainable funding and policies that support high-quality cardiovascular care across Ontario.
- Supporting access to cardiology services across all settings and working to reduce wait times for patients.
- Working to ensure quality improvement and accreditation initiatives, including the Echocardiography Quality Improvement (EQI) Program, are implemented fairly and practically.
- Representing cardiologists on provincial health policy, regulatory, and practice issues affecting the delivery of cardiovascular care.
- Providing educational programming, practice management resources, and member savings opportunities to support cardiologists throughout their careers.
